This is the story of how Kathryn & Alex met, narrated by Alex (on a side-note: Alex swears this was their second meeting…but Kathryn doesn’t remember the first one!). Here is the story:

“I have a friend I like to hang out with, but he is not the most reliable person with dates and times.  Knowing this, I planned some “man-hangout time” three weeks in advance.  I dutifully called him every week to make sure that our plans were still on and that this ”super-mega-awesome-hangout-time” would indeed take place! Every time I called, he remembered that we had plans.

 …But, alas, on the day of our “hangout-man-time”… he forgot.  What’s more: he told his wife that he didn’t have plans on that day.  To make matters actually better, his wife invited Kathryn over for some “super-awesome-woman-hangout time”!  When I called my friend, he apologized and asked if it was ok if Kathryn was over.  I remembered Kathryn…

“The Kathryn from South Side?”, I asked.

 ”Yes”, he answered.

“Is she single?”…

“Yep”, he whispered.

 ”Then it’s ok.” (What can I say? I cut to the chase )

 So I got ready and even did my hair!  On the way over, we stopped at a 7-11 and my friend got a slurpee.  We then arrived at his place and found the ladies talking.  Upon walking through the door his wife asked for some of the slurpee.

“But it’s so foamy!”, His wife retorted.

Pointing to myself in gangsta fashion I said:

“That’s ‘cuz it’s fo-me!”

Kathryn sat in her chair and laughed for 30 seconds!  Halfway through her laughing, she started spinning around!

That’s the hardest someone has laughed at my jokes!!

What better way to show off my new logo than by using a cute photo taken just recently of KC, my smart cookie kitty. Her eyes always follow me around the house… If you have a cat, you know what I mean .

This is Sochhoeun from Forever Lashful Boutique.  Sochhoeun has decided to be the face of her product, so we turned this corporate shoot into a corporate/glamour shoot! Oh, it was so much fun!  The makeup and hair was all done by Shannon.

The “Oscar”.  Let me ask you this: when you buy a wedding magazine, how does it feel when you slowly turn the pages and look at the beautiful photographs of dresses and models that are showcased?  I bet, like me, you only think of how beautiful the dresses are… I mean, who cares about the amount of work that went behind each photo, the lighting, the digital retouching …and all these boring things? Like you, when I look at a wedding magazine, I want to be submerged into that world of beauty…

A wedding album is your unique magazine. Its design involved the selection of just a few key images that frankly say it all about how fabulous and special your event was.  This is a book you can leave on your coffee table and show it off to your friends in exactly 2 seconds… the time it takes to slowly reveal the first page… Can you tell I love albums?

For the first time in many years, I have decided to design the layout of one of my albums without seeking the help of my usual designers.  This is to be a 40-page album…and even though the design has been fun so far, next time, I’ll…just leave it to people who do that every day and all day long…

Here are the first 3 spreads … it is to be a 10×13 inches long album with a fully white background. When you open it, all pages become 10×26 inches!

Claire photographed my husband and me for our wedding in 2009, after searching the web for Calgary photographers I started following Claire’s blog online. After following her blog for a few months my mind was made up, I had to have her as our photographer.

Claire has an unbelievable ability to capture not just the images from the day, but the deep emotion behind each picture. Claire brought out the romance and passion that is normally hidden from people by making us feel comfortable and free to express our love on film.

I am honored to have many of the photos taken from our wedding day and our engagement session hanging in our home; and our wedding album is displayed with pride on the coffee table.

Claire is an example of the difference between a wedding photographer and an artist who expresses herself through her camera lens. The only problem that we had when we got our photos back was choosing our favorites and that’s a good problem to have.

We can’t wait to have Claire photograph every important event in our lives.
